Lessons from the Yeast

The Father of Wealth and Wisdom, Andrew Carnegie was born on November 25, 1835, in Dunfermline, Scotland. After moving to the United States, he worked a series of railroad jobs. By 1889 he owned Carnegie Steel Corporation, the largest of its kind in the world. In 1901 he sold his business and dedicated his time to expanding his philanthropic work, including the establishment of Carnegie-Mellon University in 1904.

Early Beginning

Industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie was born on November 25, 1835, in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. Although he had little formal education, Carnegie grew up in a family that believed in the importance of books and learning. The son of a handloom weaver, Carnegie grew up to become one of the wealthiest businessmen in America.

Some are born grate, Some attain it by doggedness. Richard Branson who is today featured on our Biography section belong to the second group.

Early Beginning

Richard Charles Nicholas Branson was born on July 18, 1950, in Surrey, England to Edward James Branson,  a barrister  and mother  Eve Branson, a flight attendant employed. Richard, who struggled with dyslexia, had a hard time with educational institutions.

He nearly failed out of the all-boys Scaitcliffe School, which he attended until the age of 13. He then transferred to Stowe School, a boarding school in Stowe, Buckinghamshire, England.

At age 16, he dropped out  of school to start a youth-culture magazine called Student.
